Loganair Picks up Two Belfast City Flybe Routes

Two new routes for Loganair from Belfast City Airport

With the news this morning (March 5), that Flybe had entered administration, Belfast City Airports Chief Executive, Brian Ambrose had reassured the negations were already underway with regard to filling the void left behind by the collapse of Flybe which accounted for up to 80% of scheduled traffic at George Best City Airport.

Already, Loganair, a Scottish airline have picked up two of the abandoned routes from Belfast City that will service Aberdeen and Inverness and will be launched over the next four months. Loganair will be taking on 16 Flybe routes across the UK and have started a recruitment line for former employees of Flybe.

Belfast City Airport had commented that a number of airlines were potential prospects for the Flybe routes – so far, Loganair appears to be the first to scoop up the Northern Irish market.
