Local tour operator, Travel Solutions, has reviewed sales figures for the period between Christmas and New Year and say initial figures are “encouraging”.
Announcing the figures, Peter McMinn, the companies Managing Director explained: “New sales taken between Christmas and New Years Eve are always a good barometer of what we can expect when we enter the peak summer holiday booking period of January.
“Taking into account the horrendous year we have all experienced due to the pandemic, we were all apprehensive about the year to come, but initial sales figures are encouraging.”
Continuing, Peter said: “We know there is a pent-up demand for holidays and when consumers get the green light to travel, we are expecting a deluge of holiday bookings. From Boxing Day, the Travel Solutions sales team have taken an increased number of telephone calls compared to the same period last Christmas and consumers are booking – taking advantage of low deposits and some of the best value holiday prices we have seen for many a year.”
Peter concluded: “Holiday prices operate on a supply and demand basis, and prices will increase as bookings increase. Consumers should be looking to book now to grab a great value price.”
