Lets Get Back to Frictionless Travel- Advantage Travel Partnership

NI Travel News Speaks with Advantage Travel Partnership CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said

“We need to get back to frictionless travel”- That’s the cry from Advantage Travel Partnership CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said.

Lo Bue-Said recently announced the creation of a UK Outbound Travel Forum to help aid the sector in its recovery from the covid-19 pandemic and to get people traveling again.

NI Travel News’ Jonathan Adair spoke with Julia Lo Bue-Said to talk all things travel and to hear what Julia believes travel will look like in the near future for Northern Ireland, Europe and the world.

“From an overall perspective, we need to see the relaxation of domestic rules at home [and] think about that from a wider travel perspective” Lo Bue-Said explained when asked about what needs to happen now from travel across the board.

“Whilst it is easier to travel back to the UK if you are vaccinated, it is not if you’re not vaccinated, children can be a bit of a challenge as well” she continued.

“It depends on where you’re travelling to so we need more harmonisation. We need to get back to frictionless travel”.

The EU is expected to release a ‘one size fits all’ general travel rule for all European countries, which could see travel across Europe at its easiest for the first time in two years.
