Leading Travel Company Goes Back to Tunisia

TUI UK and Ireland is selling packages to Tunisia for summer 2018, offering three hotels

The programme starts on May 1 and marks a return to Tunisia for the company after three years, since the UK Foreign Office issued guidance against all but essential travel to the country.

The FCO issued its advice in 2015, after 30 British holidaymakers – all TUI customers – were killed in a terror attack by a lone gunman at the Imperial Marhaba Hotel in Sousse.

The guidance against all but essential travel was lifted in July 2017 and some operators announced they would be reintroducing programmes in 2018.

A TUI UK and Ireland spokesperson said: “We have reintroduced Hammamet, Tunisia as a destination for summer 2018 starting with four flights per week into Enfidha from Bristol, Manchester, Gatwick and Birmingham.

“We follow the FCO advice for all destinations we operate to as well as referencing the FCO Travel Aware campaign across our website, customer documentation and in our stores and encourage everyone to check the FCO website regularly for the latest travel information.”

The programme features three properties: a Magic Life hotel, Splashworld and a Platinum property.
