Latest Data Shows Buoyant Customer Confidence

New Jet2 survey shows that confidence about travel remains buoyant across all age groups

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have revealed the latest results of customer polling, which shows that confidence about travel remains buoyant across all age groups.

When it comes to confidence about booking and travelling on holidays this summer and beyond, over half (52%) of respondents continue to feel confident – the highest reported level in 2021 and the same figure as two weeks ago. Just over one in four (27%) say they do not feel confident – the lowest this figure has been in 2021, dropping from 28% two weeks ago.

The data shows that confidence stepped up significantly in early March, and has remained strong in recent weeks. Positive developments, such as the UK government’s ambition to reopen travel, the successful vaccine rollout in the UK, and Tourism Ministers in overseas destinations saying that they will welcome UK holidaymakers this summer have all had a positive impact.

On the back of positive announcements in destinations such as Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and Turkey, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays saw immediate and dramatic increases in bookings, showing the desire and confidence that people have when it comes to getting away and enjoying a well-deserved holiday this summer.

In response, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have increased capacity to a host of destinations for this summer including the Canary Islands, Mainland Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece and Cyprus.

Commenting on the data Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Our polling shows that customers continue to look ahead with real confidence when it comes to taking their much-needed holidays. They have waited a long-time for their holidays and are understandably very keen to get away. Like our customers, we look forward to clarity in the coming weeks about how we can get flying again, so that we can take our customers away to their dream holiday choices.”
