Jet2holidays Confirms Extended Suspension of Holiday Programme

Jet2holidays has confirmed that it is extending the suspension of its Canary Island programme, its mainland Spain and Balearics programme and its Algarve holidays programme

Jet2holidays has confirmed that it is extending the suspension of its Canary Islands programme up to October 17, its mainland Spain and Algarve holidays until October 31 and holidays to the Balearics up to November 30.

The operator has also confirmed that it has cancelled the rest of its summer holiday programme to Croatia and the Greek islands of Zante and Crete due to the ongoing travel restrictions surrounding Covid-19.

It has also put its Iceland programme on hold until February 2021.

However, some good news for holidaymakers – the operator has added hundreds of additional flights to Turkey and other destinations in Greece to give additional choice for a getaway.

A statement on the Jet2holidays website said: “We’re obviously very disappointed to be making this announcement, as we know how much our customers look forward to their well-deserved holidays in these fantastic destinations.

“For bookings to Spain, the Canary Islands and Portugal later this year, Jet2holidays said it was ‘continuing to monitor the situation very closely’. It will provide a further update once it receives further information from the government.

“We once again urge the government to implement a targeted approach to travel advice, instead of the current blanket ban approach.

“We understand how hard customers work and save for their well-deserved holidays and we’d like to thank them for their continued patience and understanding.

“In good news, we’re pleased to say that we’ve got hundreds of additional flights to Turkey and other destinations in Greece, to give customers more choice when it comes to booking or rebooking their Summer 20 holidays.”
