Jet2 Reports Record May Day Getaway Demand

The record surge in demand signals a strong start to the summer travel season

Jet2 has reported its busiest May Bank Holiday on record, with a greater rise in customers departing between Saturday and Monday when compared to the same period last year.

The record surge in demand signals a strong start to the summer travel season.

The tour operator has also highlighted the continued demand for sunshine destinations including Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and Italy among the most popular choices for holidaymakers heading abroad this weekend.

The early May Bank Holiday is traditionally seen as the start of the summer travel period, and Jet2’s latest figures highlight a continued uplift in bookings as the season begins.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, believes this Customer-First approach makes a big difference with customers:

“Looking at the number of people jetting away with us to the sunshine this May Day Bank Holiday weekend, it is clear just how much people are looking forward to enjoying their hard-earned holidays.

“As always, every single colleague, including our famous Red Team, is ready to look after customers and we know that our level of care is a real point of difference. We are operating our scheduled programme and delivering our award-winning customer experience as normal, and we cannot wait to welcome everybody onboard.”
