Jet2.com Cancel Flights to Austria and Cyprus & Update Customers on Prague

The Austrian, Cypriot and Czech governments have announced a range of restrictions on travel

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced that they will not be flying any customers to Austria (Innsbruck and Salzburg) or Friedrichshafen (which acts as a gateway to the Austrian Alps) or Cyprus (Paphos and Larnaca) as the respective governments place restrictions on travel.

There has also been restrictions placed on UK citizens regarding travel to the Czech Republic – the Czech government announced that, from midnight on Friday March 13, UK citizens without permanent or temporary residency will not be permitted to enter the Czech Republic.

A statement from Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks said: “As a result of these measures, we will not be flying UK citizens to Prague from this date, however we will be flying customers back to the UK via our programme of scheduled flights which will operate on Friday March 13, Sunday March 15 and Monday March 16. Czech nationals and UK citizens with permanent of temporary residency will be permitted to fly to the Czech Republic on these dates.

The Cypriot authorities have also announced several measures aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. As a result of these measures, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will not be flying any customers to Cyprus (Paphos and Larnaca) with immediate effect.

A statement from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays regarding the Cyprus flights reads: “We will be flying customers back to the UK via our programme of scheduled flights which will continue to operate until Friday March 20, (inclusive).”

The Austrian government has also announced a range of restrictions on travel and events, aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19. As a result Jet2.com have announced that they will not be flying any customers to Austria (Innsbruck and Salzburg) or Friedrichshafen (which acts as a gateway to the Austrian Alps) from Saturday March 14.

Jet2.com have said that they will be flying customers back to the UK via their programme of scheduled flights which will operate on Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15.

In a statement Jet2.com said: We are contacting our customers who are currently in these destination, and who are due to travel, to advise them of their options.

“This is a fast moving and complex situation, and we would like to thank our customers for their understanding. The health and safety of our customers is always our number on priority.”
