Japanese Artists Work is Realised at Ulster Museum

'Blue Rose', one of the paintings by acclaimed contemporary artist Takuma Tanaka has been given to National Museums NI by the Contemporary Art Society

As with many Japanese artists of his generation, Tokyo born Tanaka is interested in the cross-influences between traditional Japanese arts and the digital age.

In Blue Rose he suggests the pressures of social media, and the power of this ‘invisible force’.

Tanaka’s work is currently on display in the International Ireland exhibition at the Ulster Museum.
