Ireland is set to scrap almost all covid-19 restrictions from 6am on Saturday 22 January. With the Irish Government meeting this afternoon (21 January) to discuss their latest approach to the pandemic.

The curfew placed on for hospitality venues and events will be removed, along with capacity restrictions for both indoor and outdoor events.

Protective measures such as social distancing, table service and the rule of six is set to be scraped. The covid pass requirement for venues and hospitality will be lifted, and customers will no longer have to provide contact details for track and trace.

While travellers will still be required to provide their digital covid certification and complete passenger locator forms.

Measures such as mask-wearing will still be required in public settings, schools and childcare facilities. However, it is expected that mask-wearing measures will be lifted on February 28th.
