IATA to Launch Travel Pass App this Month

Airline industry body IATA will officially roll out its Covid-19 digital health app in April

Airline industry body IATA will officially roll out its Covid-19 Travel Pass digital health app in mid-April.

Still in the testing phases with multiple airlines, it will launch initially on the iOS platform.

It is understood that it will roll out on Android at a later date.

IATA Regional Vice President for Africa and the Middle East, Kamil Alawadhi, said the Travel Pass is expected to launch on the Apple platform around April 15 but clarified that “the application will only achieve its success once airlines, different countries, airports adopt it”.

“A huge amount of airlines have requested to be on board,” Mr Alawadhi said.

Airlines who have currently adopted the IATA Travel Pass include Air Baltic, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Hong Kong Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Rwandair, and Virgin Atlantic.
