Holidaymakers Required to Wear Face Masks in Ibiza and Majorca

Holidaymakers heading to Ibiza or Majorca are now required to wear face coverings whenever they leave their hotels rooms

In a new tightening of rules, holidaymakers in Ibiza or Majorca will have to wear face masks whenever they leave their hotel rooms. It is not yet clear whether face covering will be required on the beach.

The new rules on face masks are already in place in Catalonia and are expected to start applying to visitors to the Balearic Islands from Saturday (July 11).

Refusing to wear a face covering can result in a fine of €100 (£90).

People practicing sport and children under six are being exempt from the rule.
