A false alarm led to operations at Ibiza Airport being suspended for nearly an hour yesterday (Wednesday 19th) after a Ryanair passenger falsely claimed he was carrying a bomb.

The hoax claim led to normal operations being suspended for nearly an hour with some flights having been diverted to other airports like Palma Airport in Majorca.

Police are believed to have arrested a man on a Ryanair flight heading to Milan Bergamo Airport who claimed he was carrying a bomb as the plane was about to take off.

Flight operations were suspended from around 3.45pm to 4.30pm local time with no landings or take-offs occurring during this time.
