In a statement posted to the company Facebook, the travel agency said: “With a heavy heart and deep regret we need to inform you that Henry Gowan Travel will cease trading with immediate effect.

“As you may or may not be aware, we were a member of the Freedom Travel Group which was owned by the Thomas Cook group which entered liquidation on Monday 23 September 2019.

“We looked at lots of other possibilities/opportunities to try and prevent this from happening, but unfortunately it was not meant to be.”

They have provided the following information for customers:

Thomas Cook bookings:

The CAA/Atol claims forms should be available from 7 October 2019 and we will assist you with these as much as possible.

All other tour operator bookings:

We will be in touch over the next few days with confirmation of who will be looking after your future bookings. These will all proceed as normal so no need to worry.

The statement continued: “We will be here until Friday 11 October at 1pm to assist with any outstanding queries you may have. (Tel 028 90451654)

“After this date, you will need to speak directly with your tour operator.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers for their business over the years and heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
