Concept trials continue on coastal holiday parks with a multi-million-pound investment across activities, entertainment and facilities
UK holiday park operator, Haven announce it will be making a further multi-million-pound investment across multiple sites in England, Scotland and Wales over the winter period.

Following the first wave of concept trials in 2019, Haven is generating further trials on some aspects, testing new concepts and roll out developments for holidaymakers and holiday home owners as part of a wider plan to create a vision for Haven of the future.

Haven, which welcomed over 2.9m holidaymakers to the Great British coast in 2019, has selected six holiday parks across England, Scotland and Wales to host the next stage of development; Greenacres (Porthmadog), Craig Tara (Ayr), Lakeland (Flookburgh), Golden Sands (Mablethorpe) and Caister & Seashore (Great Yarmouth), with plans to open all developments by summer 2020.

Gerard Tempest, Guest and Proposition Director at Haven, said: “We are continuing to develop the range of concepts that we first introduced in 2019, taking into consideration the feedback we have received from guests, ensuring they remain at the centre of everything we do. As a result of this, as we move into 2020, we are continuing to trial some concepts, testing new ideas and rolling out products that we have finessed.

“In 2020 we will see further changes to six holiday parks for our holidaymakers and holiday home owners to experience. These developments range from two all-action adventure villages in Norfolk and Lincolnshire, state-of-the-art entertainment venues in the Lake District and North Wales and a new family amusement centre in Scotland as well,” said Tempest. “We are delighted with the responses we have had so far to what Haven parks will look like in the future looks and feel the further concept trials will continue to give all our guests the best possible experience every time they stay with us.”

Central to understanding more of how Haven parks will be in the future is the creation of Seashore on the Great Yarmouth coast as the concept park of the future. Following a multi-million-pound  investment in its swimming pool complex and food and beverage offering last winter, the popular park will be receiving a state-of-the-art entertainment centre, new indoor soft play, ‘The Pizza Deck’ which was introduced at Hafan y  Môr this year, and a new family amusement centre and a ‘Creative Studio’.

Haven will also be adding two further state-of-the-art entertainment venues at Lakeland and Greenacres.  The multi-functional and flexible space can transform from a spectacular events venue to an intimate live music bar.  And as proud sponsors of Team GB as they head towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Haven will be investing in expanding its outdoor activity offering over the coming months, including two activity adventure villages at Caister-on-Sea and Golden Sands which includes segways, climbing walls, aerial adventure courses and thrilling tower experience, ‘The Jump’, which offers a chance to freefall onto an airbag from heights of three and six metres. Craig Tara, in Ayr, will be renovating its family amusements centre to incorporate Oodles which will be a bright and breezy area for the whole family to enjoy.

“We are very excited by the new developments and feel they will provide a real difference to our holidaymakers and homeowners this summer. In Seashore we are adding more of our concepts so we can further understand how a range of developments work together and how that has a positive impact on guests. We feel confident that they will be well received and help us further in our plans for Haven in the future,” said Tempest.
