Hard Rock Hotel Collapse Could Disrupt New Orleans for Weeks

Safety inspectors say the partially collapsed Hard Rock Hotel construction site in New Orleans could remain dangerous for weeks to come

New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell said a second crane at the site is damaged and both cranes are at risking of falling, which is disrupting efforts to find the missing worker and make the site safe.

Two more cranes have been brought in to remove tons of debris.

Dozens of residents living near the site have been evacuated and accommodated in hotels.

Falling debris also damaged the roof of the nearby Saenger Theater.

The theatre’s current run of ‘Wicked’ has been cancelled.
