Guernsey Sets Out Timeline for the Easing Travel Restrictions

Guernsey has unveiled a timeline for removing travel restrictions to and from the Islands

Guernsey has unveiled a timeline for removing travel restrictions to and from the Islands.

Unrestricted travel access could be possible by early July.

Deputy Peter Ferbrache, Chief Minister of Guernsey said: “We are delighted to give both our local community and visitors some clarity on how we expect to move forward, including the full reopening of our borders.  We know we are very fortunate in being able to enjoy life without restrictions domestically for much of the past year.

“That gives us confidence as we now begin taking real steps towards more open borders and welcoming in more visitors soon.”

All remaining restrictions on everyday island life, including social, educational and business, have been relaxed after coming out of lockdown on 22 March.

The Government of Guernsey also laid out its plans for removing border and travel restrictions in a plan dubbed the ‘Bailiwick Blueprint.’

The Guernsey Government stressed all of the expected dates are subject to change.
