Greece WILL Remove All Travel Restrictions

The Greek Government has confirmed that all travel restrictions , including pre-departure testing, will be lifted

Travellers had been left confused heading into the bank holiday weekend as the Greek Government had made an apparent U-turn on covid rules.

The government have now, once again, reverted back to the original statement declaring that all covid travel restrictions, including pre-departure testing, will be removed on the set date of Sunday 1st May.

It was believed that from 1st May, Greece would lift all remaining restrictions , including the need for travellers to produce proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative PCR test result, however, this was dispelled as a misunderstanding by the media, according to the Greek National tourism Organisation.

Speaking to The Independent, the Greek National Tourism Organisation had confirmed that the Ministry of Tourism has not suggested restriction lifting from 1 May as they had expected entry rules to remain coming into the weekend.

This comes just weeks after the Spanish Tourism Board revoked an earlier announcement that travel restrictions for the region would be lifted to allow unvaccinated entry.

All travellers, despite vaccination status, will be able to enter Greece without proof of recovery of negative covid-19 test.

Mask wearing indoors will remain until 1st June.
