New research has crowned Snowdon as the most scenic place to go on a hike in the UK.
Alternix conducted research into the most scenic walking spots around the UK by collating Instagram hashtag data.
Snowdon, in North Wales, took the top spot with over half a million photos tagged on Instagram. The Snowdon Horseshoe is a popular route, with challenging knife-edge scrambles and jaw-dropping views – perfect for those social media shots.

Jurassic Coast, in Dorset, ranked in second with 476,000 tagged photos on Instagram. The stunning coastline, which is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, stretches for 95 miles from East Devon to Dorset. The full route begins in Exmouth, home to the oldest red Triassic rocks and ends with the white chalk stacks at Old Harry Rocks.
Taking third place is Giant’s Causeway, with 351,000 tagged photos. The magnificent geological formation is located 9 miles along the Causeway Coastal Route from Portrush, in County Antrim. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is regarded as one of the most sought-after tourist spots in Northern Ireland, attracting visitors from across the globe.
