Germany Latest EU Country to Announce New Lockdowns for Those Without Covid Vaccination

Germany could follow Austria and the Netherlands with tough new Covid restrictions aimed at forcing those who have not yet received the controversial jab into taking it

It has been reported that the next German government will likely follow Austria and the Netherlands by imposing tougher new Covid restrictions which could result in a lockdown only for those who have chosen not to get receive the Covid vaccination.

“Our vaccination rate is still under 75% of the German population,” Dr. Christine Falk, president of the German Society for Immunology, told Deutsche Welle.

“Combined with the lack of contact restrictions, this is allowing the virus to spread almost exclusively among the unvaccinated.”

In Austria, those who have not received the Covid vaccination are only permitted out of their homes to work, for a food shop or emergencies.

The new rules in Germany could affect up to 14 million people.
