Fully vaccinated travellers can begin patiently waiting to visit New Zealand once more, after Covid response minister Chris Hipkins confirmed the reopening of borders for early next year.

To begin with, New Zealand will accept visa holders from Australia and New Zealand citizens travelling from abroad to enter the country, which will then move towards opening for visa holders across the world. Finally, full vaccinated foreign travellers can visit the island by the end of April 2022.

Unlike most countries, New Zealand will be requiring entries are tested upon arrival and will have to undergo a week long self-isolation period within their own residence.

These moves will begin from 16 January, right up to 30 April.
