Flybe Offers Double Bonus for Students on the Move

Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline, is offering a double baggage allowance for all students in Northern Ireland who will be travelling to further their education in Great Britain

Commuting between Northern Ireland and any of the 14 direct destinations offered by Flybe from George Best Belfast City Airport, young people with a valid student ID can travel with two items of hold luggage up to 46kg while only paying for the price of one 23kg item.

Roy Kinnear, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, says: “We would like to congratulate all students who have realised their dreams by passing their exams and now looking forward to an exciting future as they move on to further their education.”

“We are approaching a peak travel time for those heading off to colleges and universities for the first time and also for those returning for the start of a new academic year.”

“Flybe appreciates that it can be extremely stressful for students having to live away from home or commute weekly. Travelling with heavy belongings and books only adds to that stress. So, we hope that this generous hold luggage allowance offered to those who have no convenient option but to fly, will make their travel experiences more affordable and enjoyable.”

To benefit from the offer, students simply have to book a standard item of hold luggage during the online booking process or a Get More ticket where a 23kg item of hold luggage is included in the price or via the call centre at the standard hold luggage rate. At the Bag Drop on the production of his or her valid form of student ID the passenger will be able to check-in two bags up to 46kg with no additional cost.

From 16th–23rd August, Northern Ireland students will also have the opportunity to win flights to their university destination through George Best Belfast City Airport’s social media channels.
