Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will sign an executive order banning any business from requiring vaccine passports to use their services – including access to theme parks.
The order will prevent businesses from refusing service to anyone customers unable to prove they had been vaccinated.
The move comes as the Biden administration confimred it is coordinating efforts by private companies to develop a vaccine passport-style plan.
Mr DeSantis said: “It’s completely unacceptable for either the government or the private sector to impose upon you the requirement that you show proof of vaccine to just simply be able to participate in normal society.
“You want to go to a movie theatre. Should you have to show that? No. You want to go to a game, should you have to show that? No. You want to go to a theme park? No. We’re not supportive of that.”
