FLASHPACK Launches Most Successful Trips Yet: Antarctica Expedition Cruise

Flash Pack has reported their most successful new product launch to date -  the Antarctica: The Final Frontier itinerary

Flash Pack, the leading solo travel brand for adventure-driven travellers in their 30s and 40s, has reported their most successful new product launch to date –  the Antarctica: The Final Frontier itinerary –  with one tour selling out within three days of going on sale. The trip is an expedition cruise operated by Poseidon Expeditions, a member of the Expedition Cruise Network.

Flash Pack selected Poseidon Expeditions as their partner on expedition cruise trips, after consulting with Martin Johnson, Chair of the Expedition Cruise Network, at the early planning stages when they were looking for a cruise line to work with.

Martin Johnson, Chair of the Expedition Cruise Network, assisted Flash Pack in selecting the right expedition cruise operator partner to fit Flash Pack’s demographic. After several introductions by the ECN and much consideration, Flash Pack decided to partner up with Poseidon Expeditions.

While one tour completely sold out, over 50% of all available bookings on the other trips were purchased by Flash Packers eager to experience the beauty and wonder of the Seventh Continent.

As a result, Flash Pack has unveiled an additional expedition cruise-based tour – a longer Antarctica tour with Poseidon Expeditions. These new tour offerings will be the first time Flash Packers travel and explore their surroundings via cruise ship, as well as offering trips within the polar regions.

The Poseidon Expedition ships are small but have a big advantage: With a maximum capacity of just 114 passengers means that they can maximise guests’ time ashore as there is no need to split passengers into groups for landing rotations.

With 25 years of polar cruising and expertise, Poseidon Expeditions have passionate polar professionals leading each expedition in safety and comfort.  The expeditions provide active exploration of the polar regions through a variety of activities. Weather permitting, they schedule 2- 3 excursions per day and offer optional kayaking and, in Antarctica, camping. As a longtime member of leading associations dedicated to protecting the Arctic and Antarctica, they take an active approach with projects such as Clean up Svalbard, strict leave-no-waste policies, a reduction of their footprint thanks to their smaller expedition ship and other conservation measures.

Lee Thompson, co-founder & CMO Flash Pack said: “Flash Pack’s latest trips to Antarctica and the Arctic take our reputation for unparalleled adventure to the next level. With our portfolio now extending to all seven continents, solo travellers have the chance to experience some of the world’s most remote glacial landscapes – complete with extraordinary wildlife encounters. Our new partnership with Poseidon Adventures amplifies this opportunity, creating an excellent backdrop for the kind of life-changing experiences and friendships that are core to Flash Pack’s offering. It means our groups can join an intimate cruise featuring a series of home comforts and led by a team of expedition experts to make the most of every moment.”

Martin Johnson, Chair of the Expedition Cruise Network said: “For anyone looking to enter the expedition cruise market, the ECN is always open to provide advice, introductions and connections with our extensive and diverse cruise operator members, that now stands at 24 members. It was a pleasure to help such an iconic brand like Flash Pack launch their tours onto their 7th continent and it looks like a very exciting product!”
