Finnair Ramps Up Winter Operations to Europe, Asia and North America

Finnair is ramping up its winter operations to Europe, Asia and North America with three daily frequencies between London Heathrow and Helsinki, new long-haul routes from Stockholm to New York and Los Angeles, frequency increases to European hotspots and the addition of Chicago, Krakow and Gdansk to their winter programme

Finnair is increasing its operations to Europe, Asia and North America for the upcoming winter season, including three daily frequencies between London Heathrow and Helsinki.

The Finnish flag carrier will continue to serve its key Asian destinations, flying daily to Tokyo, Seoul and Bangkok, and offer multiple weekly frequencies to Singapore and Hong Kong.
The airline’s Osaka service is expected to resume in October, re-expanding Finnair’s presence in the Japanese market, with Nagoya joining the route portfolio in February.

Finnair will also start serving its Dubai connection with a wide-body aircraft.
In North America, Finnair will strengthen its network by serving Chicago, throughout the winter season – with the route previously only operating during the summer.

The carrier will also fly daily from Helsinki to New York, while also operating three weekly flights to Miami and Los Angeles.

In addition to serving North America from its Helsinki hub, Finnair will introduce direct routes to Los Angeles and New York from Stockholm, Sweden. These new services join previously announced direct routes from Stockholm to Miami, Phuket and Bangkok.

European services will also see a rapid increase in frequency this winter, with double daily services to key cities such as Amsterdam, Munich, Dusseldorf, Berlin and Frankfurt, and three daily frequencies to London and Paris.

Passengers will also be able to make the most of daily flights from Helsinki to the Scandinavian capitals, while St. Petersburg will benefit from increased frequencies to support the increase in traffic to North America.

The Polish cities of Krakow and Gdansk will be introduced to the network for the winter season, while the popular Spanish holiday destinations of Malaga, the Canary Islands, Madrid and Barcelona will see increased frequencies.

During the winter season passengers benefit from four daily connections to Rovaniemi, Ivalo and Kittilä, and two daily services to Kuusamo – perfect for those seeking a winter break in Lapland. All Lapland routes operate with smooth connections via Helsinki.

Ole Orvér, Chief Commercial Officer for Finnair said ”We are excited to be able to expand the breadth and depth of our network, enabling better connections for customers as travel continues to pick up.

“We are also re-introducing services to support a smooth and convenient travel experience. We opened our Helsinki Schengen lounge in August, and Finnair’s Non-Schengen Lounge will open in early October.”
