Fairytale Cruises Launch in Saar and Moselle for 2023

Amadeus River Cruises is launching their 2023 Fairytale Saar and Moselle programme for 2023 with a 15% early booking discount

Amadeus River Cruises has launched its 2023 river cruise programme featuring 18 different itineraries on the Rhine and its tributaries, the Danube, the Dutch and Belgian waterways, the Seine, Rhône and Saône as well as a brand new cruise on the Saar and Moselle rivers and a new ship. With a 15% early booking discount available until 30th November, prices start from just £988 per person for an eight-day Treasures of Burgundy & Provence cruise round trip from Lyon.

The new eight-day Saar & Moselle Fairytales cruise starts and ends in Cologne and travels up the Rhine to its largest tributary, the Moselle River, and along the winding course of the Saar River, a tributary of the Moselle. While cruising along the sinuous spine of the Mosel winegrowing region, guests can admire its picturesque landscape dominated by steep vineyards. On shore, guests can explore Cochem’s narrow alleys, visit medieval Bernkastel-Kues, the fortified town of Saarlouis and the capital of Germany’s state of Saarland, Saarbrücken, before continuing to one of the smallest sovereign states in Europe, Luxembourg. At the confluence of the Saar and the Moselle rivers, Trier, Germany’s oldest city, awaits followed by Koblenz and the 1000-year-old Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The cruise takes place on board the MS Amadeus Brilliant with departures on 18th May and 19th August and cruise prices from £1,292 per person.

2023 also sees the introduction of a brand new innovative and environmentally-friendly five-star ship, the 160-guest Amadeus Riva which will sail on the Danube and the Rhine as well as on the Dutch & Belgian waterways. Launching in May, Amadeus Riva will offer guests a choice of 12 suites with walk-out balconies and 68 exterior cabins across three decks that feature mostly lowerable panoramic windows. The newbuild follows the progressive design and top-level standard that the Amadeus fleet is famous for, accompanied by generously designed public spaces as well as numerous luxury outdoor and dining venues including the elegant Panorama-Restaurant, the Panorama-Bar with dance floor, the classic “Café Vienna”, the glazed open-air “River Terrace” bar on the ship’s bow, wellness area with massage, hairdresser and fitness room and a spacious sun deck with relaxed lounge and outdoor restaurant. Amadeus Riva will incorporate the very latest technology in sustainable travel with the state-of-the-art ship’s engine not only enabling highly efficient energy management but also significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Equally innovative and modern is the ship’s newly developed air filtration system with two-stage purification which removes aerosols potentially containing virus particles from interior spaces.
