NI Travel News’ Erin English hopped onboard G Adventures’ new expedition vessel when it docked in Troon on Monday 27th April 2026.

Following G Adventures’ relaunch of its Artic Programme, the new 128 passenger vessel kickstarts an exciting chapter for the company’s polar itineraries.

Media and travel agents were welcomed by senior members of the G Adventures team, including Director of Growth, Nick Hughes and National Sales Manager, Stu Darnley.  Before learning more about the G Adventures artic programme, and meeting the key figures from the expedition team.

Chartered through a Danish company, SunStone, the ship has undergone extensive renovations, including the installation of brand-new engines increasing fuel efficiency adhering to G Adventures’ responsible travel ethos.

Accompanied on the tour by Expedition Leader, Jonathan Green, the tour explored the small-ships common areas, including the bar, restaurant and library, before heading down to the polar-ready decks to check out the expedition zodiacs.

From Troon, G Adventures’ new expedition vessel will embark on an itineraries through the Scottish Isles and the Artic Circle.
