Eurowings is set to open a new base at Berlin Brandenburg Airport on April 1. The airline has announced that it is stationing three of its Airbus A320 aircraft at the new base.
For decades, the Lufthansa Group has connected Berlin with Europe’s most important cities as well as long-haul destinations via Lufthansa’s major hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof said: “Others are leaving, we are staying here.
“Berlin is and will remain an absolute tourist magnet and one of the most exciting metropolises in Europe, both culturally and historically. So, it’s only logical that we expand our presence in the capital by opening our own base.”
With the opening of the Berlin base in April, Eurowings will once again connect the capital with Cologne, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart up to three times a day.
