EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has urged the US to open its borders and remove its ban on EU travellers.
Ms von der Leyen made the calls during an interview with German press RND.
The EU added the US to its list of safe countries in June with the UK following suit for vaccinated Americans on August 2 and President Biden is now under pressure to lift the travel ban put in place by the Trump administration in March 2020.
The US is blaming the prevalence of the Delta variant for its delay in reopening international travel.
