The Irish Government have confirmed that digital Covid certificates will be updated at midnight tonight(Thursday 6) to include additional booster vaccines.

Ossian Smyth, the Minister of State for Public Procurement and Government, has confirmed the EU will bring in new rules regarding vaccinations and the certificates from February 1st surrounding travel and its restrictions.

Certificate holders will see the additional vaccine placed on their certificates from tonight as the EU moves towards the new rules for February.

The current covid certificates issued for vaccination proof are only valid for 9 months and therefore explains the addition of the booster.

This therefore indicates that travellers will be required to hold a booster covid cert for travel within the EU, however this has not been confirmed.
