EasyJet Waives Change Fee

EasyJet has dropped its change fee to help ease uncertainty amid the coronavirus crisis

From Friday, easyJet customers change their flight online and the airline will waive the flight change fee.

The waiver applies to all existing and new bookings until further notice.

“Should there be a difference in fare you’ll need to pay this – however by waiving the change fee, we want to ensure you have more flexibility to amend your travel plans,” easyJet said.

“Where easyJet has been forced to cancel flights, customers will be able to transfer to an alternative flight free of charge or receive a refund.

“And where all flights have had to be cancelled due to local authority guidance – in Italy, for example – we are operating rescue flights to ensure passengers can return home,” it said.

However, it warned passengers that they should make any changes online and would incur a £5 fee if they call the airline’s call centre, unless they require special assistance.

It also gave passengers reassurance about the measures it was taking to keep its cabin air and cabins clean.

It added: “We’ve been flying for 25 years, during which time we have faced many difficult situations and on every occasion, thanks to our customers and our people, we have emerged stronger.”
