EasyJet Cuts Seven Destinations from Belfast

EasyJet has reportedly cut seven destinations from its planned schedule of operations from Belfast International Airport

EasyJet has reportedly cut seven destinations from its planned schedule of 22 destinations from Belfast International Airport.

Only 15 of the planned destinations for 2020 are now in operation.

The airline is also reportedly delaying the return of a further ten routes until Spring 2021.

The carrier has reported losses of between £295m and £325m in its fourth quarter, which were lower than those in the previous three months when planes were grounded during the lockdown.

Over the full year, passenger numbers tumbled by 50 per cent to 48 million.

Destinations which were scheduled to begin in September, but have not include:

  • Venice (was due to start 07/09/2020)
  • Valencia (was due to start 08/09/2020)
  • Dubrovnik (was due to start 09/09/2020)
  • Salzburg (was due to start 20/09/2020)
  • Prague (was due to start 26/10/2020)
  • Marrakech (was due to start 31/10/2020)
  • Lyon (was due to start 19/12/2020)

The ten routes which have been delayed include:

  • Amsterdam (was due to start 07/09/2020 – delayed until 18/12/2020)
  • Barcelona (was due to start 20/07/2020 – delayed until 28/03/2021)
  • Bordeaux (was due to start 25/07/2020 – delayed until 31/03/2021)
  • Ibiza (was due to start 25/07/2020 – delayed until 28/04/2021)
  • Isle of Man (was due to start 07/09/2020 – delayed until 29/03/2021)
  • Jersey (was due to start 01/08/2020 – delayed until 30/03/2021)
  • Krakow (was due to start 26/07/2020 – delayed until 08/11/2020)
  • Nice (was due to start 08/09/2020 – delayed until 30/03/2021)
  • Paris (was due to start 07/09/2020 – delayed until 18/12/2020)
  • Split (was due to start 01/08/2020 – delayed until 04/05/2021)
