Despite being given the green light by An Bord Pleanála, Ireland’s independent planning body, Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) has highlighted that it currently has no plans to introduce tolled drop-off or pick-up charges.

Back in 2021, Fingal County Council granted Dublin Airport permission to make changes to the required roads and infrastructure needed to introduce a tolled drop-off and pick-up area for motorists who are dropping off or picking up passengers at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

The DAA had also applied for permission for the reconstruction of two existing exit lanes from Terminals 1 and 2. Alongside the construction of four new exit lanes including “all associated works of pay cabinets, staff control readers, control barrier, flexi-bollards.”

However,  despite the permission for the works being granted, the DAA has confirmed that it has “no current plans to introduce drop-off or pickup charges.”
