Heathrow Pause, an environmentalist group protesting against climate change, had organised a drone protest today at Heathrow airport.
So far there has been no disruption to any scheduled flights but ten protesters have been arrested.
Speaking to Sky News today, Heathrow Airport spokesperson has said: “We agree with the need for climate change action but illegal protest activity designed with the intention of disrupting thousands of people is not the answer.”
With a heavy police presence at Heathrow airport today, protesters have been warned that activity that endangers the lives of passengers could carry life sentences.
Heathrow airport are aiming to remain fully operational despite protests and threats of further drone attempts later today.
