CzechTourism and Budweiser Budvar are aiming to host the biggest virtual tourism industry party for the public to date.
The Big Virtual Czech In event includes tutored beer tasting, a stay at home quiz and a Czech DJ set on via Facebook Live on the 7th May. Over 100 influencers have already signed-up.
The event wants to spread positivity and unity during the lockdown, giving people a chance to taste and visit the Czech Republic from their homes. Starting at 7:30pm on the Visit Czech Republic Facebook page, influencers and members of the public can take part in the festivities from home, running into the late night.
The event starts with a tutored virtual beer tasting with Budweisier Budvar, the national brewery of the Czech Republic, where an expert from the brewery will teach participants how to best pour and enjoy their Czech beer. Next will be a stay at home pub quiz with amazing prizes up for grabs, before a live performance from Czech DJ’s Oliver Torr and Lotus Walsh to take the party into the night.
The huge event is the next instalment of the #CheersFromCzech campaign, where CzechTourism and Budvar teamed up to supply 500 isolation care packages containing free beer to travellers that had their trips to the Czech Republic cancelled. All participants can sign-up via the FB Event link here.

Full Event Schedule
7:30pm – Tutored Beer Tasting with Budvar
The evening will start with a virtual beer tasting where an expert from the Budvar brewery will teach participants about the beer as well as how to best pour and enjoy the Czech drink. Giving everyone a taste of the Czech Republic from their own home, no matter where they are.
8:00pm – Stay at Home Quiz
The second part of the night will be a special edition of the pub quiz, with prizes up for grabs and questions asked on a whole variety of topics. A huge virtual, friendly battle for the quarantine quiz crown.
9:30pm – Live DJ Set by Oliver Torr & Lotus Wash
The evening will conclude with a live set from top Czech DJ’s Oliver Torr and Lotus Wash, who will guide the party into the night. With a UK holiday on 8 May, nobody should be worried about having to get up for work the next day.
