With further strikes on the cards for this summer, Cirium have revealed the number of departures from UK airports this summer (July & August) and how they could be impacted.

During July and August 2023, 186,220 flights are scheduled to depart the UK airports – equating to over 33.2 million seats. Departures from the UK during the peak summer months are projected to hit 90% of 2019 levels (pre-pandemic), when 208,063 flights were scheduled.

Summer departures from UK airports are up 12% compared to 2022 and up 124% compared to 2021, as travellers resume business and leisure trips. From the UK, Dublin is scheduled to be biggest international destination by flights, followed by Amsterdam, Palma, Malaga and Faro.
