Co Antrim Teen Gifted Trip from Emirates Following Impressive Cabin Crew Demo

Emirates surprised a young teen and his parents with an exciting trip to Dubai, complete with flights, a top central hotel and a special trip to Emirates cabin crew training facility.

Calum McGarrigan from Co Antrim had submitted a very impressive video where he showed off his cabin crew demonstration skills in February 2020 as part of the Emirates Love Stories campaign.

The subsequent arrival of the pandemic meant that Calum’s trip had to be postponed but having kept in touch with the family, Emirates kept its promise of whisking the boy, now a young teen, off to Dubai with his parents for an all-expenses paid trip.

From dune-bashing on a desert safari, to learning what it takes to work in his dream job in the sky at the Cabin Crew Training Academy (CCTA) in Dubai, Calum was a VIP for the trip receiving a warm welcome from Emirates staff.

Speaking on his return from his adventure, Calum said:

“I loved every minute of it – from the training college to the hotel with views of the city to the safari ride which was great fun. The training college was a real highlight and being able to sit in the classes and learn how to be part of Emirates Cabin Crew and do the safety demonstrations was just amazing for me. I can’t wait to come back some day.”

Enda Corneille, Country Manager for Ireland, Emirates, added:

“We were absolutely thrilled to be able to honour the trip we had surprised Calum with over two years ago before chaos set in for the travel industry. Calum is a very impressive young man and I hope the trip was everything he had hoped for. We look forward to hopefully one day welcoming Calum to the Emirates Cabin Crew team but he is certain to excel at whatever he puts his mind to.”
