A survey by online cruise specialist cruise.co.uk has revealed that over half (56%) of their customers have marked a special occasion while at sea. The top reasons to celebrate onboard were:
- Birthday
- Anniversary
- Wedding and honeymoon
- Retirement
- Graduation
Meanwhile, 1% of respondents hopped on a cruise to signify the completion of a divorce.
Almost 700 customers completed the survey, which also revealed that respondents are now almost twice as likely to book a celebratory cruise than they were five years ago.
The Mediterranean was the favourite destination of choice, with 32% of participants selecting it as their preference. The Caribbean followed closely, taking 31% of the votes.
