Business Travellers and Tour Groups Could be Exempt from Quarantine Rules

The government said it is working with the the travel industry and health authorities to develop a short-stay quarantine exemption for inbound international business travellers

The UK government has announced that its Global Travel Taskforce is working with the travel industry and health authorities to develop a short-stay quarantine exemption plan for inbound international business travellers.

If approved, new rules would exempt business travellers from undergoing any self-isolation providing they were only undertaking business-related activity.

The Taskforce is also looking at whether it can allow ‘tour bubbles’ for inbound guided groups – this model is already in use by sports teams to allow them to travel.

This would mean that a group could arrive together and use private transport to visit a number of Covid-19 secure venues, all while staying together as a group and following local regulations.
