A British man has been left with serious injuries after he fell from a first floor balcony in Majorca.
The 27-year-old was rushed to hospital following the fall, with local reports stating neighbours saw him leaning out of the window of a Palma flat twice before he fell to the ground head-first.
It was not made immediately clear if the man was holidaying at the flat in the Majorcan capital or whether he lived at the address.
A National Police spokesman said: “This morning around 12.45am in the Palma neighbourhood of Sa Gerreria a foreign man aged 27 who was apparently in a state of nervousness fell from a first-floor balcony to the ground and suffered a serious head injury.
“The emergency services arrived on the scene and transported the injured man to hospital.
“The causes of the incident are still being investigated, although at this stage there appears to be no third-party violence.”
