A British boy has been injured in a shark attack in the Bahamas.

A young British holidaymaker has been attacked by sharks in the Bahamas.

The boy, named as Finley Downer, was rescued after being bitten on both legs by three nurse sharks at Compass Cay and was taken to the capital Nassau for an operation and further treatment for his injuries.

The family has now returned home to Kettering, Northamptonshire, where Finley is recovering and using a wheelchair.

Finley’s father claims tour guides told him the sharks were harmless.

Nurse sharks are mostly docile unless abruptly disturbed by humans.
