Cardiff tops the stress levels with 55 per cent saying they feel stressed on a daily basis.
In close second comes Edinburgh and Manchester with 53 per cent, according to the report by insurance company Protectivity.
Surprisingly London comes in a low 10th in the report on the UK’s most stressed places to live and work.
An incredible 74 per cent of the UK population felt overwhelmed or too stressed to cope at some point in the last year.
The survey reveals that from our personal appearance and finances, to work, relationships, and health, there is an abundance of stresses we as a nation are experiencing on a day-to-day basis.
HR, Legal and Retail, Catering & Leisure are the most stressed professions, with HR taking the lead with 79 per cent of employees claiming to be stressed. This figure is worryingly high, especially when other professions such as Finance, Travel and Transport are almost half this figure.
It comes as no surprise that 16-24 year olds suffer the most from stress surrounding their personal appearance, social media and relationships. Concerns over work, children and family fall between 35-44 year olds and health falls in the 55+ category
The nation’s top three stress-reducing activities have also been revealed as 1, Watching TV/Films (53 per cent); 2, Listening to music (46 per cent); 3, Taking a bath/shower (32 per cent).
