Baltic Sea Ferry Stranded in Finnish Waters

A Baltic Sea ferry has run aground near the Aland Islands near Finland

A Baltic Sea passenger ferry has run aground in the Aland Islands archipelago between Finland and Sweden.

It is reported that there are 200 passengers and 80 crew on board.

The Finnish coastguard said the M/S Amorella, operated by ferry company Viking Line between the Finnish city of Turku and the Swedish capital Stockholm, hit ground south of the port of Langnas in the Aland Islands.

Authorities are investigating why the ferry ran aground.
