An Exciting Time at United Airlines

Since opening its doors last year, the United Polaris lounge at SFO has wowed customers who've gotten a chance to visit the space - so much so that the lounge has been voted Best Business Class Lounge in the world at the 2019 World Airline Awards from Skytrax

The Polaris lounges are open in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco with future locations including Washington D.C. and London Heathrow.

Additionally, United also won Best Business Class seat in North America, most improved airline in North America and Star Alliance won Best Airline Alliance.

United was honoured with the “DiversityInc Top 50” designation, the only airline to be recognised for the promotion of a diverse pipeline of talented individuals. Not only that but more recently United made the history books as they became the first public company to be inducted into Pride Live’s Stonewall Ambassador program in recognition of our commitment to LGBTQ+ equality.

For more than two decades, United has offered the New York/Newark region the most flights to the most destinations around the world as a global gateway.

In June, United debuted the world’s most eco-friendly flight. The airline had previously set a goal of reducing their emissions by more than 50% by 2050. On a recent ‘Flight for the Planet’, meals were served on compostable or recyclable plates and hot beverages in paper cups, an industry first. The cutlery was compostable too and up front meals were covered with a beeswax wrap rather than plastic. The goal? Zero cabin waste.

As a proud promotional partner in the upcoming Columbia Pictures release Spider-Man: Far From Home, in association with Marvel Studios, the airline decided to infuse their new safety video with a little movie magic airing on select aircraft now.
