Amidst the rise of the Omicron Covid variant, Richard Blumenthal, a Democratic Senator, has called on the CDC and cruise lines to ‘protect customers’ by imposing a cruise operation ban.
In a recent tweet Senator Blumenthal said:
“Time for CDC and cruise lines to protect consumers and again pause, by docking their ships”.
This comes after a recent surge throughout the cruise community regarding covid-19 cases on-board, with multiple ships being turned away from ports.
Cruise lines have already imposed strict measures surrounding the inclusion of face masks, vaccination and general health whilst on-board.
