Ambassador Cruise Line has announced British ski jumping legend and Olympian Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards as the latest star set to join guests as part of the upcoming series of its much-loved ‘In Conversation With…’ themed sailings.
Guests on Ambience’s Land of Eternal Sunshine: Norway’s 6 Most Beautiful Costal Gems sailing, departing from London Cruise Terminal on 7 June 2025, will have the opportunity to embark on a magical Arctic odyssey whilst also being able to enjoy very special ‘In Conversation With…’ talks along with Q&As and ‘meet and greets’ with the sporting icon.
Eddie is famed for being the first ever person to compete for Great Britain in Olympic Ski Jumping despite all the odds. Well-known for his determination and humour, the story of his exploits in the 1988 Calgary Olympic Winter Games was immortalised in the biographical film Eddie the Eagle, released in 2016 and starring Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman and Christopher Walken.
Guests on the Norwegian sailing can look forward to being entertained, inspired and maybe even surprised as they hear Eddie tell his incredible life story – which shows how failure can be the foundation for extraordinary success. There will also be the chance for guests to ask questions and to meet and greet the former British ski jumping record holder (providing the perfect photo opportunity!).
Eddie joins an incredible lineup of famous faces from across stage, screen, sport and more who will be joining guests onboard Ambassador’s fleet of small-to-mid-size ships in the 2025 season. These include Coronation Street, Brookside and Emmerdale favourites including Claire Sweeney, Catherine Tyldesley, Dean Andrews, Sue Cleaver and Beverly Callard, who were confirmed to be joining Ambassador’s 2025 sailings only last month.
Previous stars to have made guests appearances onboard include Olympic Gold Medallist Tessa Sanderson, legendary jockey Bob Champion, opera singer Lesley Garrett, The Chase’s Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer Wallace and Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, England International cricketers Graham Gooch and Alex Tudor and cricket commentating royalty, Jonathan Agnew and Henry Blofeld.
