Amadeus River Cruises has launched its 2024 European programme featuring 19 itineraries in 13 countries on ten luxury river ships. The 2024 itineraries, which are on sale now, range from 8 to 16 days with highlights including:

  • Amadeus River Cruises’ latest ship, Amadeus Riva, which sails on the Rhine, the Danube and the Dutch and Belgian waterways and sets new standards for luxury river cruising with five-star travel comfort combined with cutting edge technology. The ship follows the progressive design and top-level standard that the Amadeus fleet is famous for, accompanied by generously designed public spaces and numerous luxury outdoor and dining venues such as the elegant Panorama Restaurant, the classic Café Vienna, the glazed open-air River Terrace bar and a spacious sun deck with relaxed lounge and outdoor restaurant. There is also a choice of stylish suites and cabins featuring mostly walk-out balconies and lowerable panoramic windows.
  • Amadeus River Cruises’ newest itinerary, the eight-day Saar & Moselle Fairytales cruise, which starts and ends in Cologne and travels up the Rhine to its largest tributary, the Moselle River, and along the winding course of the Saar River, a tributary of the Moselle. While cruising along the sinuous spine of the Mosel winegrowing region, guests can admire its picturesque landscape dominated by steep vineyards. On shore, guests can explore Cochem’s narrow alleys, visit medieval Bernkastel-Kues, the fortified town of Saarlouis and the capital of Germany’s state of Saarland, Saarbrücken, before continuing to one of the smallest sovereign states in Europe, Luxembourg. At the confluence of the Saar and the Moselle rivers, Trier, Germany’s oldest city, awaits followed by Koblenz and the 1000-year-old Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
  • The ever-popular Rhine in Flames week-long cruise along one of the most important and attractive rivers of Europe with a detour along the winding Moselle River. Guests will delight in the panorama of the myth-enshrouded Middle Rhine Valley with its winelands, the prominent Lorelei rock and the highest density of castles in the world. The highlight of this trip is a stunning pyrotechnic display featuring colourful fountains, Catherine wheels and crackling comets as the romantic Rhine valley is bathed in the glow of 800 red lights and magnificent hilltop firework displays. The opening fireworks accompany the start of the boat parade, which provides some 22,000 passengers with mesmerising views of the illuminated castles, palaces and riverside promenades..
  • An unforgettable 1,200-mile cruise on the beautiful Blue Danube visiting seven countries – Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania – and five world-famous capital cities – Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Belgrade and Bucharest. Highlights include the cruise through the “Iron Gates”, the imposing gorge where the Danube breaks through the Carpathian Mountains; the journey to kilometre zero, at the estuary of the Danube where it meets the Black Sea; and the visit to the Danube Delta with its amazing wildlife and scenery. The trip is rounded off by a stay in Bucharest, the legendary Romanian capital full of history and tradition. Departures on 4th August and 16th October 2024.
