Airport Sleepout Raises Over £15,000

Belfast City Airport's Sleepout has raised a total of £15,557 for the Welcome Organisation

Belfast City Airport’s Sleepout has raised a total of £15,557 for the Welcome Organisation, a local charity that provides on the ground support for people affected by homelessness.

Aiming to raise vital funds to deliver potentially life-saving services, the Sleepout challenges people to spend one night sleeping outdoors. Belfast City Airport’s Sleepout took place in  November outside the main terminal with more than 50 people from local companies taking part.

Stephen Patton, HR and CR Manager at Belfast City Airport, said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the sleepout in November on what was a very cold night, and for all those who kindly donated.

“We are once again amazed by the generosity of our local community and thrilled to pass on over £15,000 to The Welcome Organisation.”

The Welcome Organisation was selected as the Airport’s Charity of the Year for 2019/2020, and since the beginning of the partnership staff and volunteers have been raising money and awareness of the charity through terminal collections, winter clothes donations, and staff events, including a charity quiz.
