Following the announcements this week from England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, regarding the removal of travel testing. Booking numbers for the half-term holidays have risen significantly.

Along with particular focus on routes from the UK to locations such as Switzerland and Austria, as families seek to head off on a Half-Term Skiing Holiday.

Reportedly, flight schedules from the UK to Switzerland and the UK to Austria are expected to rise to the highest levels since March 2020 next month.

With flights from the UK to the two popular skiing nations already up 1,344% in February 2022 when compared to February 2021’s figures.

According to Circum Data, nearly 1,800 flights are scheduled from the UK to Switzerland – with Geneva being the most popular destination in February 2022. As well as nearly 560 flights scheduled from the UK to Austria – where the most popular gateway is Salzburg, with Innsbruck and Vienna following closely behind

In February 2022, British Airways is expected to be the largest airline from the UK to Austria, while easyJet holds the top spot for flights to Switzerland from the UK.
