Airlines Ramp Up Nonstop Travel between Hawaii and Japan

In June, nearly 12,000 visitors arrived from Japan, and which is still about 90% down from 2019 pre-Covid levels

Airlines have ramped up nonstop travel between Hawaii and Japan.

Hawaiian Airlines has restarted its daily service between Honolulu and Tokyo Haneda while Japan Airlines has resumed direct flights from Tokyo Narita to Kona. The route operates three times per week.

In June, nearly 12,000 visitors arrived from Japan, and which is still about 90% down from 2019 pre-Covid levels.

Japan travellers spent about $24 million during their stays in Hawaii and is key to Hawaii’s international travel rebound.
